Description

This stock certificate (No. 6167) represents 100 shares valued at $3 each for the Yellow Jacket Silver Mining Company. One of the deepest mines of the Comstock Lode, this mine in is where a fire started in a shaft at the 800ft level. Known as the “Gold Hill's Yellow Jacket Disaster," it was one of the worst fire incidents in U.S. mining history.
