Description

This stock certificate (No. 25921) represents 100 shares valued at $1.00 each for the Tonopah Divide Mining Company. After acquiring much debt, Wingfield and other owners re-established the Gold Mountain Mine as the Tonopah Divide Mine, selling some of the former land to satisfy their debts.

Notable Bond Imagery

In the top center is a vignette of a mine, where several large buildings surround a towering pump or drill. Several people stand in front, some working, some supervising. Directly under is the company’s seal, reading “ Nevada Tonopah Divide Mining Company Incorporated 1912.” On the left side is a purple stamp that reads, “Registered at Tonopah, Nevada Mar. 8 1929” and is signed by the Tonopah Banking Corporation Registrar.” This stamp also has another stamp on top of it that says “Canceled.”
